He was hospitalized for a month at the Vaud University Hospital Center (CHUV) in Lausanne. “I had to clean my hands, I had five or six operations for grafts to replace the burned skin,” he explains. He lost 10 kilos because “the body needs a lot of energy to rebuild itself”. Thanks to a tube in the nose and connected to the stomach, he could consume “4,000 to 5,000 calories a day, just like a professional football player.” The young man was able to return to school, even though he will have to repeat his year.
